How to get to Alt.TV.Red-Dwarf
You could click your heels
and say "There's no place like ATVRD" three times.....
It wouldn't get you there, but it might get you funny looks!
ATVRD is an NewsGroup which is carried (available from) many news servers around the world. The list below is in no way definitive but gives you a fair idea of which server you can use and how good it is.
ATVRD should be available via your newserver. If not, ask your ISP for it to be provided or try the following alternative news servers:-
(please note: it's a good idea to get the cis.dfn.de news server even if your ISP carries ATVRD, as some ISP news servers are slow, unreliable and only carry so many posts...cis.dfn.de is one of the best)

| Cis.dfn.de is a text-only server based in Germany, which is probably why it is so fast (text only). To register to use this server, you need to send an email to them, and all this is explained on the website. You should get a reply within a week or so, and from then on you're laughing (quite literally, if you really have to). The site is in English and German and is simple enough to understand | |||||||

Deja
is a fairly simple and easy to use newsgroup service, its only downside
is that it is entirely web-based, and can't be used with newsreaders
like Outlook Express or Netscape News. It's also got almost unlimited
articles, as they tend to keep all the old articles available for anyone
who actually goes that far back through the articles on the site, so
it's useful for looking up old archived stuff from the past.
Deja frequently goes down, which means that the whole server is unavailable while it's down. It'd be a good idea to sort out some sort of alternative to it if possible...like remarq! |

is pretty much the same as Deja, but once you get used to one, the other
will seem different.

Please note: This is only a basic list of news servers, and there are many thousands more out there that carry the ATVRD NG, but these three are the most popular in the NG ATM. This list will build up as time goes on, with more and more good servers being found
